 About Geelong Lutheran College:

Geelong Lutheran College is a one College two-campus community offering a nurturing Christian educational environment. The GLC St John’s Newtown Campus, established in 1962, educates 348 Primary students from Prep to Year 6. The Armstrong Creek campus, established in 2009, serves 1080 students from Prep to Year 12. Both campuses offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.

 Position Overview:

The St John’s Newtown Campus seeks an experienced and inspiring Head of Primary to lead and support the Primary School community while fostering the College's Christian values, culture, and ethos. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of driving educational innovation, managing the Primary team, and supporting student welfare and pastoral care. The role is well supported by the Executive Principal (across both campuses), and supportive GLC St John’s leaders (Assistant Head of Primary, Director of Teaching and Learning. Inclusive Education Leader, Wellbeing Coordinator and Literacy and Numeracy Coordinators).

 Key Responsibilities:

  • An ability to clearly articulate a strong, personal Christian faith
  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the campus
  • Drive continuous improvement and educational innovation
  • Oversee student welfare and pastoral care
  • Collaborate with the Executive Principal and College Leadership Team on strategic initiatives

 Selection Criteria:

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • A personal Christian faith
  • Proven experience in educational leadership within a Primary School setting
  • Strong commitment to student welfare and staff wellbeing
  • Attention to detail and have strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while in support of the broader College policies, procedures and the strategic initiatives
  • Capacity for innovative thinking and continuous improvement
  • A solution focused, collaborative perspective and approach
  • Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program an advantage

Finance Officer (Part-Time)

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team on a part-time basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for accounts receipting and General Ledger interface functions, including tuition fee billing and following up outstanding payments.

About You

To excel in this role, you will have Accounts Receivable experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work. You are courteous, professional, and calm under pressure, with the confidence to handle challenging financial discussions with tact and diplomacy, including making calls to follow up overdue accounts.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar finance role
  • Experience in following up outstanding payments and negotiating payment plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Criminal Record Check
