Showcasing Student Creativity

Family and friends were able to see the tremendous creative works of our students earlier this term as both campuses held a special arts evening.

The Armstrong Creek campus' Dhurrung and Ngarrwa were open into the evening on Thursday 24 October for the bi-annual Arts & Technology Showcase. The evening was a fantastic opportunity to share our students’ incredible creativity and skills with the broader school community. Over the course of the afternoon and evening, students and families were able to watch a series of Music and Drama performances, view student-made films, taste some cupcakes made by our Year 7 Food Tech students, fly drones, and marvel at the artworks, products and gadgets created by our Primary and Secondary students. We are so fortunate to have such talented students!

The following week on Thursday 31 October it was GLC St John's Newtown’s turn as the school hall was transformed into a colourful gallery for the Arts Spectacular. The evening lived up to its name, with student work from across the whole year and from every class on display in the school hall. The displays showcased our SJ students’ skills across a variety of genres and art mediums. It was lovely to see so many families attend to see their children's creativity on display.

Thank you to all the students who participated in these two evenings, our fantastic P&Fs who ran the BBQs, and all the families who attended. A special mention also goes to Mrs Kerdel at GLC St John's Newtown, and GLC Armstrong Creek’s Mrs Holloway, Mrs Povey, Miss Sykes and her talented Secondary Arts & Technology team for the sensational displays and all the work they did to make the events a success.
