21 July 2021
GLC St John's Newtown students have demonstrated their strong affection for our French Immersion Program by dressing up in their red, white and blue best to mark Bastille Day. The national day of France is celebrated on the 14th of July each year to acknowledge the anniversary of the 'Storming of the Bastille' on 14 July, 1789. This was a major event of the French Revolution, while exactly one year later the 'Fête de la Fédération' marked the unity of the French people. There's no disputing it was a cause for celebration at our Newtown campus.
Thanks to Madame MacGadie and Mademoiselle Gibier for their organisation of the day.
