AC Primary and Secondary Captains (School, Faith and House Captains) recently travelled to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to attend the GRIP Leadership Conference.
This conference was attended by thousands of student leaders from the Greater Melbourne area, and it gave students such a buzz to see themselves as part of a wider community of young people leading and inspiring others. Students participated in leadership games, developed realistic and purposeful ideas to improve their school community and learnt how leadership involves STEPping up (Serve others; Take initiative; Exemplify school values; and set a Purpose). Our student leaders were particularly interested in GRIP’s take on integrity in leadership. We are excited to see how our leaders apply what they learnt to everyday life and initiatives back at school!
Student Reflections “We were reminded that even the smallest action can make a big difference, and that we should always show integrity.” - Ilan “Showing initiative is a big part of being a responsible captain.” - Hudson “We were taught about leadership through games and plays, which helped us to learn, and it was fun!” - Zoe
