Fitness Fridays have been introduced for the Year 12 cohort to encourage some healthy exercise habits ahead of the exam period and to ensure endorphins are pumping ready to start the day productively. The activities such as skipping also assist in getting blood, and, consequently, oxygen to the brain, to make better thinkers. Despite the cold, the students were enthusiastic about getting outside and participating in this new sporting initiative during home-group time. In recent survey results, students highlighted that physical activity was minimal during the last few months. As well as encouraging physical health, the activities were designed to help with team building and encouraged students to support one another, to listen and positively engage as a cohort that can support each other as a network through the next few months of their Year 12 journey.
