Position Overview:

We welcome applications from individuals who are creative, inquiring and enthusiastic, and have a genuine commitment to the education of young people. The successful candidate will value a strong approach to student well-being. Demonstrated competence with technology and ICT to enhance the educational program is strongly desirable and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) experience in a similar setting would be well regarded.

Play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal growth of our students as part of our highly committed, professional and collaborative team. You will be responsible for:

  • Design for effective learning using a rich contemporary teaching practices
  • Sound understanding of Australian Curriculum content, concepts, and skills development
  • Differentiate curriculum to meet individual needs of students
  • Provide opportunities for the intellectual, spiritual, cultural, physical and social development of students through the selection of appropriate learning strategies
  • Develop and curate a range of resources (including technology) for an enriched learning environment
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress and implementing appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Creating a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborating with other teachers and key staff to provide the best possible educational experience for our students.

You will be required to engage students in learning that nurtures their self-esteem, encourages self-reflection and develops compassion, respect and tolerance as a foundation on which they will build their lives in an environment that values education.

Selection Criteria:
Candidates must demonstrate:

  • A personal Christian faith
  • Proven experience in educational leadership within a Primary School setting
  • Strong commitment to student welfare and staff wellbeing
  • Attention to detail and have strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while in support of the broader College policies and procedures
  • Capacity for innovative thinking and continuous improvement
  • A solution focused, collaborative perspective and approach
  • Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program an advantage

Learning Coach (Secondary)

Geelong Lutheran College is seeking a caring and committed individual to work alongside teachers in supporting the diverse learning needs of students. Experience in an educational setting or supporting students with additional needs will be highly regarded.

As a Learning Coach, you work under the direction of the Inclusive Education Leader (Secondary) providing support for identified students as they work to achieve the academic goals and social skills required for independent learning and confident participation in the College and wider community. This position involves collaboration with other members of the Learning Support team, classroom teachers and families across the College. This role will have a focus in our Primary school.

Applicants with a Certificate IV in Disability Support and experience in schools are encouraged to apply!

This position is 5 days per work (0.77 FTE) commencing term 1 2026.

Year 7-12 English Teacher with the potential of a Leadership position
Full-Time Position

Geelong Lutheran College is seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding across the learning area and have experience teaching across Years 7-12. This role requires a deep commitment to student-centred learning, curriculum innovation, and assessment best practices.

This is a full-time position, commencing in Term 1, 2026.

The role:

  • Teach English while fostering a classroom environment rooted in curiosity and critical thinking
  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning so that every student is challenged, makes progress and thrives in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Commit to knowing students well, ensuring that learning is personalised so students can take their own next step in their learning progress
  • Continuously seek-out innovation, trying new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom and contribute to a culture of experimentation
  • Skilfully integrate learning technology into practice, selecting the most appropriate tools to enhance the learning experience

What do I need to succeed?

  • Teaching qualification
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching in English across a range of year levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
